Hillary
Hillary is a little girl with 3 years old and she already has 13 surgeries, she spent 24 days hospitalized in APROQUEN after suffering a fatal burn accident. Doctors had to amputate all her toes due to the severity and depth of the injury. Today she is on her way to full rehabilitation. One day, while playing with her cousins, she accidentally fell into the glowing embers of an artisanal oven. The girl was paralyzed without moving, raising cries for help until her mother found her and immediately removed her from the scene of the accident. She arrived at our APROQUEN Burns Center with a 7% burned area on her feet and left hand. Every 15 days APROQUEN gives her free physiotherapy sessions to improve scars, vacuum therapy and compression clothing.

Mateo
Mateo was born with bilateral cleft lip and palate and complications in his heart. APROQUEN's medical team met him when he was 8 days old and at 4 months he underwent his first surgery. His parents found out about his condition when his mother was 4 months pregnant and decided to seek comprehensive and multidisciplinary care at APROQUEN. From the first moment, APROQUEN provided support to his family on how to feed him and, above all, take care of him so that he could develop without any problem. For Mateo's parents, the fear was constant when thinking about an uncertain future for him. Today, Mateo is 3 years old, he is a strong, happy and charismatic child, above all, healthy. For Mateo and his family, APROQUEN and heroes like you are now part of their lives. Thanks to your generosity, Mateo's smile lights up the world.

Oliver
At the age of 14, his life changed forever, when he suffered an accident that caused electrical burns to 10% of his body. These burns were so severe that they critically damaged the tissue in his right leg. After more than two weeks of intense surgeries, and 10 surgical interventions, the doctors decided that due to the danger that the injury represented, they had to amputate his leg. Oliver Cruz, originally from El Tuma-La Dalia, was traveling on the roof of a small truck when a loose power line got in the way and when he tried to move it with his hand, a flow of high voltage electricity hit him. At APROQUEN, the doctors diagnosed him with second and third degree burns on the upper part of his right leg, his back, and his feet. Today, he is on his way to a full recovery with the multidisciplinary team at APROQUEN. Oliver and his father are eternally grateful to the team that cared for him and to all those kind hearted people who donated to save his life.
