Oliver
At the age of 14, his life changed forever, when he suffered an accident that caused electrical burns to 10% of his body. These burns were so severe that they critically damaged the tissue in his right leg. After more than two weeks of intense surgeries, and 10 surgical interventions, the doctors decided that due to the danger that the injury represented, they had to amputate his leg.
Oliver Cruz, originally from El Tuma-La Dalia, was traveling on the roof of a small truck when a loose power line got in the way and when he tried to move it with his hand, a flow of high voltage electricity hit him.
At APROQUEN, the doctors diagnosed him with second and third degree burns on the upper part of his right leg, his back, and his feet.
Today, he is on his way to a full recovery with the multidisciplinary team at APROQUEN.
Oliver and his father are eternally grateful to the team that cared for him and to all those kind hearted people who donated to save his life.
