Physiotherapists study the impact of massage techniques on burn patients

As part of the APROQUEN Regionalization Program, supported by funds from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), Central American physiotherapists reinforced their knowledge and continued to work in a multi-centric study carried out for more than a year on the standardization and impact of massage techniques in the rehabilitation of the burned patient.

A total of 6 therapists participated in the training given at the APROQUEN Burn Unit from May 15-19 by Ingrid Parry, Physical Therapist at Shriners Hospital for Children-Northern California, USA.

“The purpose was to socialize the studies on massage and finalize the book of innovations on orthotic additions, which are those rehabilitation treatments that are not in books but have been devised to solve according to the economic situation of each country. It is intended to be translated into a book for general knowledge and to serve as an international tool, “said Lic. Socorro Valladares, Rehabilitation Coordinator for APROQUEN.
